W. Baxter Manuel

In loving memory of William Baxter Manuel, October 31st, 1937, to February 18th, 2024.

Peacefully and surrounded by love, William Baxter Manuel passed away on February 18th at Pleasant View Towers, aged 86 years.

Predeceased by his parents, Catherine and William Manuel, his beloved children, Jackie and Bob, and his former spouse, Marguerite Manuel.

Leaving to mourn and celebrate his incredible life and beautiful soul, dearest friend and wife, Debbie Manuel, his beloved children; Chris (Donna), Gus (Colleen) and Jeff (Alicia). Remembering with treasured memories are his stepchildren; Zack Howard (Roxanne) and Kristi Webb (Tyler).

Mourning his loss, also, are his many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Baxter will be greatly missed by his family, friends and family at 3SW PVT, where he lived with great times for the past three years; happy hour will never be the same.

Special thanks to all the staff at PVT who provided Baxter with exceptional care, concern, love and joy. We will be forever grateful for you all. Also, would like to thank Dr. Vinod Patel and team for giving Baxter a sense of purpose and well-being during his declining health.

Baxter's love for life, his humor, and his ability to connect with all he met through his boating days in Holyrood and Trinity Bay, his many fishing and hunting trips in central Newfoundland, his work life in his family business, Maggie's Bakery, his time at Woolworths and Robin Hood Flour were the joys of his life. His caring, kind, generous heart, and colorful personality will remain with us all and will be greatly missed.

At Baxter’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood.  A visitation and celebration of life will take place on Friday, February 23rd, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at Dunphy’s.
