Valentine J. "Val" Brophy

It is with heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of Val Brophy of Holyrood at The Agnes Pratt Home in St. John’s on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, at the age of 77.

Val was predeceased by his parents, Alphonsus Brophy and Elizabeth (nee Harding); his beloved daughter, Darlene and son, Glenn Brophy; siblings: Leo Brophy, Gerry Brophy, Marion Dillon, Eileen Healey and Elizabeth Lorondeau.

Val leaves behind his loving spouse, Marie, his daughter, Jackie; and his son, Dale (Debbie Peters). He was a proud poppy to Morgan, Molly, and Brady. Val will also be dearly missed by his siblings: Mary Woodford, Angus Brophy (Donna), Kevin Brophy and Brenda Brophy, and special niece Sheena Fleming, as well as a circle of relatives and friends.

Dad had a love for cats and enjoyed his garden.

Special thanks to The Agnes Pratt Home staff for their care and compassion during his brief stay and Dunphy’s Funeral Home for their compassionate care.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or formal funeral service; the family will gather privately to celebrate his memory.
