Thomas Michael Gorman of Chapel’s Cove, passed peacefully away at the Leonard A Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Monday, March 9, 2026 in his 80th year.
He was predeceased by his sister, Lillian, Parents; Thomas and Lillian (nee Cantwell) Gorman and brother-in-law William Duggan.
Leaving to mourn are his sister, Josephine and special friend, Pat Doyle who were by his side throughout his entire journey. Also the Duggan family, cousins as well as his feline friends; Reddy and Pussycat, whom he cared for dearly.
Tom was a mechanic by trade but was gifted in other areas such as carpentry, electrical and plumbing, to name a few. He could turn his hand at any given project and would gladly lend a hand to anyone in need.
Special thanks to our neighbour Joan and Raymond Hawco, sister-in-law Joanne and the Duggan family, Sherry Myers, Rosie Veitch, Gerry Furey, Margaret Martin, Judy Costello, Lena Fewer, Bernadette Hickey, Janice Daley, Maria Woodford, Bernadette Myers, Peggy Ryan, Margaret Barron and Angela Quinlan for their kindness and constant support over the past couple of months.
At Tom’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood on Thursday, March 12 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harbour Main on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:30 am with inurnment to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Chapel’s Cove. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 64, Holyrood.
Due to the season of Lent being upon us, flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Parish.
