Thomas J. Hawco

It is with heavy, broken hearts that we announce the sudden, but peaceful passing of our dear father, husband and grandfather, Thomas Joseph Hawco on December 24th, 2022 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.

Tom was predeceased by his parents; James and Agatha Hawco brother Brian and little sister Marie.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 43 years Marjorie, children; Brad and Tracy (Matt), grandchildren: Robin, Aidan and Sammi, brothers: Larry (Wanda), Jim (Rosemarie) and Ray (Sandra), sisters: Anita (Mike) and Pat (Dave), sister-in-law Betty and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Tom enjoyed many sports in his younger years, such as softball, darts and hockey. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and cutting down Christmas trees for his family. He spent 35 years working with NL Hydro in various locations all across the island and Labrador. He was always there to lend a hand whenever anyone needed one and didn’t ask for anything in return. He lived for his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

At Tom’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood on Friday, December 30th, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harbour Main on Saturday, December 31st, 2022 at 10:30 am. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
