It is with broken hearts, that we announce the passing of Stephen Hickey of Riverview, NB on Monday, January 13th, 2025. He passed away peacefully with his parents at his side at The Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital, Moncton after a long and courageous battle with several medical conditions.
He was a true local and Canadian sports fan. He with his dad rarely missed a Wild Cats game, Stephen loved to cheer on the Habs and the Toronto Blue Jays,
Stephen was born in Corner Brook, NL, he was the son of Leo and Geraldine (Dalton) Hickey. Aside from his parents he will be dearly missed by his brother, Craig (Amey), nephew Darcy, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. This includes two special aunts (Marg and Beth Dalton), whom Stephen looked forward to for his nightly Skype calls, receiving lots of comfort, encouragement and prayers. Stephen moved to Riverview at the age of nine, but always considered his Newfoundland roots “home”, where he will be returned for his final resting place.
Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, 366 Conception Bay Highway, Holyrood. Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 19th from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harbour Main on Monday, January 20th, 2025, at 10:30 am with interment to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Harbour Main.
