It is with a heavy, heavy heart and profound sorrow, that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Rose Ellen Trahey of 69 years. Rose passed peacefully away from this world on March 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Rose was the heart and soul of our family. Rose will be reunited in heaven with her brothers, Dominic and Noel, father William, her special granny, Mary Ann O’Toole Woodford and her mother and father in law, James and Agatha.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her husband of 49 years, Harold, daughter, Tracey Lynn and husband Marc Cullen, children Meghan and Tate, son Harold Jr. and wife Kathy, children Wyatt and Amelia, daughter Angie and partner Dave Lewis, children James and Alexa Hickey, son Trevor and wife Stephanie, her mother Elizabeth, siblings; Bill (Cherie), Kelly and Ed (Heather), her numerous nieces and nephews and life long friend, Marg (Woodman) Schroder.
Mom always looked forward to having all of her family for Sunday Jiggs dinner. Having her children and grandchildren around her was her special pleasure. She loved to have them as often as possible. To her grandchildren, she was NANA❤️. Nana was always there for each of her grandchildren whenever they needed her. She loved to spend time with them, whether it was walks to the pond to skip rocks, having a game of cards at the table, telling her personally authored stories about “Mookie” before bedtime, hanging each of their Christmas Tree ornaments on Christmas Eve, or making them her special cup of tea.
Rose dearly loved to baycation in Bonavista and Trinity every summer to attend the Rising Tide Theatre and enjoy the fabulous Newfoundland music, food, and skits. She also had a fondness for browsing antique stores and flea markets where she often picked up yet another beautiful teacup or teapot to add to her amazing collection. She loved to cuddle with her furry companion, Max, every night before bed. She loved him as a member of her family.
We, her adoring family, will surely, surely miss Rose, Mom, Nana, her kindness, warmth, compassion and love.
