It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Ronnie (Ron) Veitch of Ottawa, ON (formerly of Holyrood, NL), after a brief illness.
He was predeceased by his parents; Fred & Ellie Veitch, sister Margie, and brothers-in-law; Barry McGrath and Bob Bowser.
He will be forever missed by his surviving siblings: Kevin (Judy), Catherine, Eileen and Elinor Veitch, and Betty McGrath; his brother in-law, Bob Martin, nieces and nephews and many friends from Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador, especially Frank and Doris O’Brien of Ottawa.
Always ready to lend a hand or share a story, Ronnie was a kind soul with a heart of gold who touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Ronnie possessed an uncanny ability to connect with just about anyone and he will live in our hearts forever. While Ronnie’s career took him around the world, he always held firm to his Holyrood roots regularly visiting with family and life-long friends. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and spent much of his spare time reading; he was also an avid runner, cyclist and golfer. The family wishes to thank those friends and family members who visited or called while Ronnie was in hospital. Your genuine concern and well wishes were truly appreciated. As Ronnie prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same - go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you. A celebration of life will be held at the Star Of The Sea, Holyrood on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
