Robert "Bob" Power Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of a loving and devoted husband, father, poppy, uncle and friend, Bob Power of Holyrood, formerly of Branch, St. Mary’s Bay. Bob passed away at his home in Holyrood on February 23rd, 2021, after a short battle with lung disease.

Predeceased by his parents Robert and Margaret Power and step father Ambrose (Pop), sister Florence Pond and recently departed brother Aloysius, sister Marie Roche and aunt Theresa Roche.  Brother-in-law Allan Roche and parents-in-law Lawrence and Nora Healey.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of loving memories, his best friend and wife of 45 years Nora, beloved children, Mark (Kate), Melissa (Andrew) and Gillian (Scott) and his precious grandchildren Elsie-Claire, Max and Isla whom he adored.

Sharing in our loss are his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews; Florence Power (Wishey d.) (Bev, Gwen, Marie, godson Robbie, Brian, Lynn & Ian), Earl Pond (Flossie d.) (Linda, Earlene & Elaine), (Marie & Allan Roche d.) (Margie, Gloria & goddaughter Ann Marie), Phil & Alice Healey (Philip & Keith), Mary & Ray Hickey (Kim, Ray & Megan), Jim & Carmel Healey (Jimmy & Kate), Ann & Wayne Parsons (goddaughter Pam & Erin), Richard & Rosalie Healey (Suzanna & Victoria), Joan Healey, Suzanne (Bob) Healey ,  Betty & Eddy Farrell (goddaughter Lindsay (Berlin) & Teddy), Doreen & Gary Noseworthy (Rebecca & Jessica), Bernadette & Roger Tibbo (Brittney & Renee); Gerald & Winnie Healey (Jeremey & Abagail) and Judy (Shawn) Healey. He will also be missed by his many cousins, especially Nick Careen, Don & Josephine Roche.

Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, berry picking and gravel pit boil ups with family.  He spent his career as a Land Surveyor in the town of Holyrood and surrounding areas. He would want everyone to remember him as he lived, appreciating life and enjoying all its simple pleasures.

We would like to thank everyone for your support, we are grateful for all the kind gestures, drop offs and check-ins. Your care and kindness are greatly appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. Due to current restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 13th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holyrood with a private interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
