Robert Wade Obituary

In the wee hours of the morning on May 12th, 2021, the man we thought would outlive us all drifted peacefully from his earthly vessel at the Health Science Centre, to go roam the cosmos for infinity. Robert Edward Wade (AKA Bobby), a rebel with a cause. From the foggy shores of Newfoundland, to the Sunshine coast of California, a rambling man was he. He was not a man who could linger long in one place, taking up iron working in 1970, set sails on what would be an extraordinary adventure of a life. Growing up in Avondale with all his wild crew, eventually deciding that life on the iron was the life for him. He and his long since passed brother of life Martin Kennedy, took up and ventured off to Toronto, then New York where they had a hand in creating the New York Skyline as we know it today. A snag sent them to Florida, where they heard about the up and coming highrises in Los Angeles. Off to California they went, the place where he would come to call home for the rest of his days. A poetic, philosophical, insightful, and deeply loving man he was indeed. A true rolling stone, adored by each and every that came to cross his path. A ruthless man, a polarizing man. The timeless wanderer, giving a piece of himself to each and all around him regardless of circumstance. He shall never fade, for his love and light and tenderness shine through in the legacy this great man left behind in all of us. The world shall never again know the likes of a man such as he.

Until they meet again, he leaves behind his daughters, Jennifer Dawn Wade-Jordan (Jeff) and Sydney Ellen Wade. His loves, four grandchildren, Jacob, Dylan, Leah, and Jahni Jordan. His sister's Dotty Wade Rodway (Darrell), Elaine Terry (Rick), and his brother Terry Wade (Ann). Along with so many nieces and nephews it's hard to fit you all on here. He loved each and every one of you so deeply, he loved deeper than anyone I know.

He's off to join his Mom and Dad (Theresa and John Wade). And his siblings Johnny, Michael, Richard and Patsy Wade.

To all his many friends here and there, his brothers all over this continent from local 764 to 433. To the ones since gone, and the ones still here. He loved all of you.

May the cat live on in all of us, ever after.

"In my life I was fortunate enough to marry twice-- and from each one I received the most beautiful and miraculous gift ever created by god-- a daughter"

- Robert Wade
