Passed peacefully away in her 93rd year in the presence of her family at her home in Chapel’s Cove on Sunday, November 8th, 2020. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick, son Patrick and infant daughter Rita. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters: Mary (Hayward), Agatha and Gail (Alonzo), sons: Basil (Theresa), Valentine (Maureen) and David (Patti), daughter-in-law Olive, sister-in-law Joan, 15 grandchildren: Patrick, Pamela, Heidi, Jeannie, Ronnie, Beverly, Brenda, Rodney, Lorelei, Valeen, Warren, Sharley, Scotty, Abby and Emily, 16 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a very large circle of friends. We would like to express heartfelt thanks to Mom’s homecare workers, Donna and Suzanne who went above and beyond to provide the best care Mom could have.
Rita had an infectious smile that lit up every room. She was the life of the party and always up for a good time. She had an incredible way of making everyone feel welcome with her big bear hugs. Rita’s strength and resilience was admired by many. She will be forever missed by family, friends, furry and feathered friends and all who knew her. Rita will be waiting with open arms to have a dance with us all again.
