She grew up in Gasters, Harbour Main and moved to Philadelphia, USA in August 1960. She spent 25 years making wonderful memories with her family and meeting new friends. In July 1985 she moved back to Newfoundland with her friend Wilbert.  Violet returned to her Harbour Main roots in 2013 when she moved in with her granddaughter Melissa (Robert) Seward and their children Jordan, Logan and the pride and joy of her life Ariana. Over the past two years she resided at Glenbrook Lodge where the staff made her feel at home, the amount of love, compassion, and kindness they showed Violet was very much appreciated.

Violet was 18 days short of seeing her 101st birthday. 101 years of living life to the fullest. She worked very hard her whole life. She enjoyed travelling, loved a game of bingo, and she would never turn down an opportunity to go shopping. She was known for her stylish outfits and perfect hair. She will be missed by all who had the opportunity to love and know her. You are home and we have no doubt you were greeted at heaven doors by Cyril saying, “Mudder what took you so long.” Our lives have forever been enriched by sharing in her love.

At Violet’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
