Leonard J. (Junior) Crawley

Leonard (Junior) Crawley passed peacefully away surrounded by the love of family on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the age of 60 years.

He was predeceased by parents Leonard & Theresa (nee Hickman) and niece Brittany Murray.

Leaving with fond memories his love of almost 37 years Lucy, sons; Ryan (Jordan) and Steven (Ashley), grandchildren; Landon & Mya, “his pride and joy”, brothers; Gary (Joy) and Rick, sister Bobbie, brothers-in-law; Bartley (Jeanette) and George (Pam), all the Crawley, Bennett and Hickman families, a large circle of nieces, nephews and very special friends, too many to mention, as well as many work colleagues with The City of St John’s & Holyrood Marina.

Leonard recently retired after serving 37 years with the City of St John’s starting with the parks & services/snow clearing and retiring with the water and sewer department. He recently took a position at the Holyrood Marina Park Corporation as the Marina Supervisor. Leonard was very well known for his infectious smile, humour, integrity and being proudly outspoken. He was always up for a debate and very passionate about the things he believed in and well opinionated. Len was happiest cruising out the bay, moose hunting with his boys, spending time with his friends/family and getting away to the cabin. He was always up for company and appreciated those that were true to him. Len was a family man to say the least and at the end of the day his family was everything. 

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, staff, priests and clergy located at the Health Sciences Centre and the Leonard A. Miller Centre.

At Leonard’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8th from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 9th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holyrood with inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Holyrood.

If friends so desire, donations in Leonard’s memory may be made to a charity or organization of one’s choice.
