Kay passed peacefully away in the presence of her cherished family at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, October 27, 2025.
She was predeceased by her parents; William and Veronica (née Myers) Doran, parents-in-law; Ben and Bride Ghaney, brothers: Willy, Pad, Fred and Martin, brother-in-law Johnny and beloved grandson, Jeffrey Searle.
Left with fond and loving memories are her husband of 57 years, Sid, sons: Derek (Kim), Rick (Sandy) and Scott, grandchildren: Emily, Kaitlyn (Andrew), Sara and Casey, great-grandson Dawson, sisters: Mary (Lou), Pat, Madonna (Barry), Chris (Anthony) and Sylvia, brothers: Jack (Rose), Joe (Patsy) and Leo (Mary), sister-in-law Kay Wall, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
She was A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in the company of her husband, sons, and the generations that followed. Kay’s heart was always open to her many siblings, especially her beloved sister Pat and the countless friends who became family over the years.
Known for her vibrant spirit and social nature, Kay greatly enjoyed spending time with others. Whether she was playing cards, bingo, darts, gardening and painting or sharing stories over a cup of tea, she brought warmth and laughter to all who knew her. She was a proud and faithful Catholic, her commitment to church and community was unwavering. Her legacy is one of love, connection and joy—a life well-lived and deeply felt.
Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will be held on Friday October 31st from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holyrood on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 10:30 am with cremation to follow.
