John Francis Devereaux

Passed away on August 6, 2021 at the Health Sciences Center, John Francis Devereaux of Avondale, age 77 years.

Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Devereaux, wife Barbara, sister Theresa Skanes, brother Con Devereaux, nephew Kenneth Skanes, parents-in-law Patrick and Florence O’Leary.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons John Jr. and Jason (Charmaine), two grandchildren Shaelyn and Ace, brother Michael (Bernice) Devereaux, nieces Tina (Tony) Doyle and Tanya, nephews Keith (Jody) Devereaux and John (Ann Marie) Skanes, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood.  Public visitation will be in keeping with COVID-19 Regulations and will take place on Wednesday, August 11th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Thursday, August 12th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

The funeral service will be by invitation only due to COVID-19 Restrictions. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Assumption Catholic Church, Avondale on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at 11:00 am with cremation to follow.  For those wishing to attend, please register at the funeral home during visitation. The inurnment will take place at Assumption Cemetery, Avondale on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm. 

Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in John’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
