Cantwell, John Patrick August 26,1954 - April 9, 2020 Passed to Eternal Rest on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Health Sciences Centre. John Patrick Cantwell of Avondale, aged 65 years. Predeceased by his: parents William and Catherine (nee Penney) Cantwell, brother William, sister-in-law Carmel, brother-in-law Al as well as his parents - in-law Christopher and Janet Randell of Bide Arm. Left with fond and loving memories are his: wife of 44 years, Joyce (nee Randell), sons; John Jr. and David (Heather) precious grandchildren Daniel, Jordan, (and their mother) and Lucas. He also leaves to mourn his sisters: Marie (Wayne), Madonna (Nick), Christine (Joe), Denise, Roxanne (Joe) and Pamela (Jimmy), his brothers: Tony, Wayne (Bernadette) and Steve (Kelly), sisters-in-law: Ann, Nina and Wanda (Garl), his brothers-in-law Edgar (Susie), Manuel (Gloria) and Sidney, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John was a retired member of Eastern Health after 25 years of service to others. He was an active and visible volunteer in the community and was a proud member of the Mt. Carmel and Marine Golden Age 50+ Clubs. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Cabot Council 6001, Cabot Assembly 1644, and a member of Board of Administration Assumption Parish, Avondale. "A gentle giant, a reliable friend, He will be sadly missed" During these challenging times, cremation has already taken place. A Private Funeral Service will be held at Assumption Catholic Church on Wednsday, August 12, 2020,with Inurnment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, Avondale.
