James Fitzpatrick Obituary

It is with broken hearts and unimaginable sorrow that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of James Keith Fitzpatrick, aged 18 years, who lost his life due to a moose-vehicle accident on July 14, 2025.

James will be forever loved and remembered by his parents, Jennifer and Keith Fitzpatrick and his sisters, Julia and Brittany. He was a beloved grandson to Calvin and Norma Pilgrim, and Ron and Mary Fitzpatrick. James held a special place in the hearts of his aunts and uncles: David (Nita) Pilgrim, Elizabeth (Jim) Pilgrim, Kelly (Ron) Vickers, Ronnie (Diane Rideout) Fitzpatrick, Katrina (Trevor) Giles, and Jamie (Elena) Pilgrim.  He shared a strong bond and many memories with his cousins: Matthew, Allison, Brady, Emily, Mark, Erikson, and Ariana. James also leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Kate McNeil, with whom he shared many beautiful memories and dreams for the future. James will also be dearly missed by his loyal golden retrievers, Pepper and Mac, and his much-loved cat-nephews, Pinko and Stinky.

He was a recent graduate of the College of the North Atlantic’s Automotive Service Technician program, James had just proudly begun his apprenticeship at Kings Bridge Service Station, excited to start building a career doing what he loved.

James was known for his kind heart, infectious smile, sense of humour, and quiet strength. He was someone who would always show up for the people he loved, and he lived his life with generosity, empathy, and integrity. In keeping with that spirit, James was an organ donor, and through his selfless final gift, he has given hope to others even in this time of devastating loss.

Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, 1118 Torbay Road, Torbay on Sunday, July 20th from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service to celebrate James’ life will be held at the Salvation Army Temple, 101 Torbay Road, St. John’s on Monday, July 21,2025 at 2:30 pm.

Flowers are gratefully accepted, or, in honour of James’ memory, donations to Ronald McDonald House, 150 Clinch Crescent, St. John’s, NL A1B 1X0 or www.rmhcnl.ca  would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

“Though his time with us was far too short, James made a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be remembered always and loved forever.”
