It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Harold J. Nolan at the age of 66 years.
He was predeceased by his parents; Edward and Annie Nolan, siblings: Dan, Larry, Kay, Laura and Theresa.
Harold left this world peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Health Sciences Centre surrounded by his beloved family. In true Harold fashion, he was joking with everyone who was there until his final moments.
He was born in Mount Carmel where he grew up in a large loving family of nine siblings: Mary (Bill), Kay (Jim), Dan (Rachel), Theresa (Jim), Laura (Walter), Johnny (Sharon), Shirley (Nick), Mercedes (Led) and Larry. He had fond memories of walking to church with his mother, holding her hand as a young boy. Now he is holding her hand in Heaven.
Harold was a skilled painter by trade and a loving and proud father to Kevin (Kira), Barry and Chelsey (Mike). He was an extremely dedicated and loving Poppy to Jasmine, Lyndon, Daisy and Noah. He will be dearly missed by his immediate and extended family, including his special niece Tina (Rod) and family and the so many friends who were blessed to know him.
Known for having always having a coffee in hand, his big heart, kind soul and unforgettable sense of humour, Harold was the life of the party and always knew how to make people smile. A dedicated fan of hockey, Harold cheered for the Toronto Maple Leafs through every season with pure optimism (most of the time). His generosity, warmth and quick wit in all areas of life made him a true gem, thoughtful, friendly and supportive.
At his request, cremation has taken place. A visitation to celebrate Harold’s life will be held at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. All who knew and loved Harold are welcome to attend and share in honouring his memory.
“Your life was a blessing and your memory a treasure.”
Harold was a selfless man and would prefer donations to be made to support others. In his memory, donations can be made to the John Howard Society.
