Gertrude E. "Trudy" (nee Lidstone) Veitch

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Trudy at Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, NL on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023 at 74 years of age.

She was predeceased by her parents; Kathleen (Kity) nee Nichols and Bert Lidstone, sister Cathy Petten, mother-in-law & father-in-law; Josephine and Gregory Veitch, sister-in-law Anita Veitch and brothers-in-law; Greg Veitch and Michael Veitch.

Trudy is lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, John Veitch, sons; Mark (Josette) and John (Noella), Grandson Brandon Kennedy and wife Tera Moussignac Cimello Kennedy and daughter Killian Grace Kennedy, sisters: Carol Lidstone, Paticia (Lidstone) Cowan and Elaine Lidstone, brothers: Jim Lidstone, Duncan Lidstone, Jeff Lidstone, Allan Lidstone and Rick Lidstone, many nephews, nieces and cousins, along with a large circle of friends.

She will forever be remembered for her easy-going demeanor and the way she always listened to other people's concerns and worries. May she Rest in Peace.

A special thanks to the Health Sciences Centre; the doctors, especially Dr. Patti Power, nurses and staff for their care of Trudy.

A come and go Celebration of Life will take place at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood on Monday, July 17th, 2023 from 4:00 pm -6:00 pm. There will be an open mic, so please come and share stories and memories. A private Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Holyrood at a later date.

A reception will be held following the celebration at the Star Of The Sea, Holyrood at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in Trudy’s memory may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
