It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Betty Hawco, of Chapel's Cove, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 at the young age of 66 years.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Brian; son Trevor; her parents Leonard and Madeline Ghaney; mother and father in-law James and Agatha Hawco; sister Mercedes Gorman; brothers Leonard Jr. and Kenneth Ghaney; nephews Darryl Gorman and Stacey Dixon; niece Lisa Gorman; brother in-law Thomas Hawco; sister-in-law, Marie Hawco; and deceased members of the Hawco, Hearn, Costello, and Ghaney families.
Left to mourn with broken hearts are her children; Stephen (Kyla) and Stephanie, grandchildren: Dakota (Mackenzie), Sierra (Seth), Morgan, Madison and Mia, brothers: Bob (Audrey), Steve (Esther), John (Shirley), Keith and Cyril, sisters: Mary (Frank), Rose (Jack) and Bridget (Bill), sisters-in-law: Laura, Marjorie, Pat (Dave) and Anita (Mike), brothers-in-law Joe Gorman, Larry (Wanda), Ray (Sandra), Jimmy (Rosemarie), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff who cared for Betty over the past few years. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Joyful Manor, where Betty resided, for their extraordinary love and care. Sylvia and Junior Eason, your patience and kindness touched our hearts in ways words cannot express. You made a real difference in Betty‘s life and we thank you.
Betty was dedicated to her family and everywhere she went, she made friends. She loved nothing more than a great laugh, a good game of cards and playing bingo.
May the angels take her home to peace!
