Passed away peacefully at the Emergency Department at the Health Sciences Centre on September 3, 2021 after a lengthy illness of MS at the age of 67.
He was predeceased by his parents Agnes and William Dalton, niece Lorraine (Gushue) Nichols and brother-in-law Donald Hawco.
Leaving to mourn his soulmate and love of his life Gerrianne Devereaux, brothers: George (Alice) and Bill (Joan), sisters: Assumpta (John), Rose (Charlie) and Marion. Also leaving behind a wide circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Ed enjoyed and made the most out of the small things in life. He loved spending time in his garage creating and repairing items to help his family and fellow neighbors.
A heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home who provided exceptional care to Ed during the past seven years. Their kindness and love for Ed made it easier for us when we weren’t there. We would also like to thank the staff at Woodford’s Comfort Manor in Holyrood and to the Emergency Room Staff & all the medical professionals who provided care to Ed over the years.
A very special thank you to the Devereaux family for the support and time they spent with Ed over the years.
Cremation has taken place. Resting at Dunphy's Funeral Home, Holyrood. Public visitation ( EVERYONE IS WELCOME ) will be in keeping with Covid-19 Regulations and will take place on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be by invitation only due to Covid-19 Restrictions. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harbour Main on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:30 am with inurnment to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Harbour Main. For those unable to attend, the funeral mass will be livestreamed with the link available below.
