Douglas R. Janes

It is with broken hearts that we announce, Douglas Richard Janes passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at 63 years of age.

Doug was predeceased by his mother Patricia Janes, father-in-law Gerald Skanes, grandparents Madalyn and Sylvester Penney.

Left with fond and loving memories are his devoted and loving wife of 38 years, Bernice, precious daughter Amy, two precious grandsons, whom he adored, Parker and Paesyn.

Also left with fond and loving memories are his father Douglas Janes Sr. (Marilyn), brother Bill (Kim), sisters: Penny, Wanda, Sabrina, Shari (Mark), mother-in-law Joyce Skanes, sister-in-law Anne Skanes, niece Melissa (Jason), nephews: Sean, Adam, Carter, Luke, Matthew, Samson and great niece Lauren, as well as a large circle of family, friends, work partner and close friend Tom Tobin and his work family at Brinks where he worked for 40 years.

At Doug’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date for family. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or to a charity of ones choice.
