Donald C. "Donny" Ezekiel

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donny Ezekiel of Harbour Main in his 49th year.  Donny passed away unexpectedly in Edmonton, Alberta on October 1st, 2023.

Donny was predeceased by his father Michael Ezekiel, grandparents; Francis and Helen Ezekiel and George & Sarah Buckle, aunts and uncles: Margaret Baldwin, Pat (Clarence) Costello, Kevin Buckle, Marion Buckle, Raymond Parsley, Patrick Ezekiel and Herb Gulliver.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving mother Jenny, the pride and joy of his life, his precious daughter Lauren (Tyler O’Brien), Lauren’s mom Sarah Lewis, brother Michael, sister Karen (Kevan and Lennon Taylor). Also leaving to mourn are his aunts and uncles: Mary Jacobs, Joe Buckle, Betty Parsley, Georgina (Mickey) Terry, Grace Gulliver, Dot (Bill) Costello, and Patricia Ezekiel. Also leaving to mourn are his special friends, Scott Woodford and Buddy Woodford along with many cousins, extended family and friends.

Donny was like a gentle teddy bear and family was very important to him. He was a proud father to Lauren. He loved her more than words could ever say and was eager to share in all her accomplishments. He was a devoted son and loving brother and will be dearly missed.

His greatest pleasure came from time spent outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and swimming. He had a contagious smile and a kind and loving manner that left a lasting impression on many.

Donny followed in his fathers’ footsteps and was very proud of his life’s work as an Iron Worker with Iron Workers Local 720 in Edmonton and Local 764 in Newfoundland. Donny spoke highly of his union family and in particular his Superintendent Craig Breen and the Waiward Suncor crew. Our family would like to thank them for their kindness and support.

A special thank you to Karen for taking such wonderful care of her big brother on his final journey home.

Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood, visitation will be held on Saturday,  October 7th from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sunday, October 8th from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harbour Main on Monday, October 9th, 2023 at 2:00 pm with cremation to follow. Donny will be laid to rest at a later date beside his father Michael at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Harbour Main.
