Deborah G. (nee Myers) Strapp

Entered into God’s heavenly home, Deborah (Debbie) Gerarda Strapp (nee Myers) 63 years old from Harbour Main.  Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Ann Myers and parents-in-law Gerald and Agnes Strapp, sisters Doreen Cantwell, Patsy Mauger, brothers-in-law James Hawco and Gerald Cantwell.  

Leaving with fond and loving memories are her devoted husband of 41 years, Patrick, daughter, Jessica, son, PJ (Nicole) and precious grandchildren Claire, Sarah, Chase and Faith.  Sisters, Loretta Healey (Pat), Mary Hawco, Theresa Morrissey and brother James Myers (Bernadette).  Sisters-in-law, Marion (David Young), Margaret (Max Snow), Geraldine (Albert Furey), Alice (Karl Meister) and Shirley (Ed) Mahoney and brothers-in-law, Michael (Elizabeth) Strapp, Gerald Strapp and Warren Mauger.

Debbie loved music. She was happiest singing and playing her guitar and accordion and passed that love of music along to her children and grandchildren. Often times, Pat and Debbie would have a waltz listening to the Cabin Party on Saturday night.

 As per Debbie’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 16, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harbour Main on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:30 am.

 Footprints in the Sand

 One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
