Dean Butland, age 52 years, left this earthly world for a better place on April 11, 2021. Dean was born on March 26th, 1969, the seventh of eight children. He was predeceased by his parents, Vera and Derm, who were the center of his universe.
He graduated from Enright Memorial and went on to study Industrial Engineering Technology at The Marine Institute. He was a talented writer and poet. Dean had a fond love of music and history and enjoyed learning about the stories of his birthplace, O’Donnell’s. He enjoyed the outdoors and relished a hard day’s work of cutting wood.
Dean is remembered by his sisters; Marilyn (Paul), Laura (Ed), Claudette (John) and Carmella (Dave), brothers; Chris (Connie), Ed (Janice) and Neil (Tonya), nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of family and friends.
Due to the Covid-19 Restrictions, cremation has taken place. A private funeral mass will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph’s, with his immediate family: brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dean’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
