It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother and wife, Bernadette Murray on Monday February 8, 2021.
She was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and James Costello, brothers Ignatius (Ig) and Douglas (Doug) Costello, parents-in-law Eileen and Walter Murray, brothers-in-law Alphonsus Murray, Michael (Mick) Murray, and sisters-in-law Margaret (Peg) Walsh and Patricia (Pat) Gough. Leaving to mourn this insurmountable loss is her husband of 39 years Joe, son Phonse (Stacey), daughter Amanda (Josh), beloved grandchildren: Chelsey, Caden, Cameron, Owen and Ellie, siblings: Edie (Lar), Lorraine (Lenny), Joanne (Tom), Shelia (Jimmy), Daphne (John), Rosemarie (Jimmy), Leona (Albert), Patricia (Albert deceased) and Jerome (Carmel). As well as her in-laws: Pat (Ange), Clarence (Carolyn), Gerard (Kim), Eddy (Nancy), Walter (Mabel), Lena (Jim), Ag, Rose, Joan (Jerome deceased), Ralph Gough and Ceil Murray and large extended families and friends.
Bernadette will surely be missed and remembered by everyone who came to know her. She was courageous, kind and loved with all her heart. She made a positive impact on everyone that she met and her loss will be felt by many. She was fiercely dedicated to her family and friends and loved deeply and unconditionally. Her friendship, loyalty and love will truly be remembered.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, Rodney Lewis, emergency medical responder for your compassion and care, her sisters who cared for her when we couldn’t and all those who have supported our family over the last three years.
We love you and we miss you.

Resting at Dunphy's Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Covid-19 Restrictions apply so please remember to practice social distancing. The funeral service will be private and by invitation only due to Covid-19 Restrictions. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holyrood on Friday, February 12th, 2021 at 10:30 am with Cremation to follow.
