Bernadette passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 78 years of age.
She was predeceased by her parents; Edward & Irene Power and Daniel & Theresa Walsh, parents-in-law; Edmund and Maude Didham, infant sister Theresa, sister Elizabeth (Noye), brothers: Jerome, Edward and Aloysius. She was also pre-deceased by her in-laws: Harry Davis, Melba Power, Daisy Power, Derm O’Leary, Wayne Noye, Charlie Didham, Kevin Didham, Edward Didham, Marg Didham, William Didham and Madeline Daley.
Leaving to mourn her loss, are her devoted and loving husband of 58 years, Richard (Dick), their children: Daniel (Melody), Theresa (Brian), Paul (Karen) and Henrietta (Paul), grandchildren: Christopher, Rebecca (Josh), Andrew (Hillary), Julia and Mack and her great grandchildren: Oliver, Parker, James and Cohen.
Also mourning her loss are Bernadette’s siblings: Cynthia (Don), Anthony, Jean, Helen, Agnes, Gloria (Junior), Kenneth (Linda) and Jerome (Theresa). Dick’s siblings: Rose (Peter), Mildred (Bob), Ben (Sandy), Maureen and Butch (Callista), numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends.
Bernadette will be remembered by all for her caring and compassionate nature, her devotion to family, friends and her community.
Her home was always open, and Bernadette took pride in always having a welcoming place for family, friends, and acquaintances, where everyone left with a smile and full belly.
Bernadette’s family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to her close lifelong friend Theresa Williams, along with personal care workers Vera Fagan, Michelle Dalton, Jane Sarno, Madeline Coady, and Gloria White of “Best of Care”, to Reverend Melvin, and the doctors and nurses at 7 East of the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.
Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16th from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service to celebrate Bernadette’s life will be held at Dunphy’s Memorial Chapel, Holyrood on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm with cremation to follow.
