Ambrose Joseph Tremblett

Surrounded by the comfort, care and love of his family, Ambrose passed peacefully on July 2, 2021, at the age of 74. He was predeceased by his parents, Ellen and Michael Tremblett Sr., and his brother Thomas.

Ambrose is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth (Betty), his daughters; Wanda (Donny), Kim (Jamie) and Sherry (Peter), grandchildren; Steven (Adrianna), Chelsea (Nick), Jessica (Remi), Kristen and Kyle.

He also leaves to mourn nine brothers and their families: John (Barb), Michael (Patsy), Walter (Bernice), Albert (Daisy), Joseph (Linda), Jerome (Mary), Dermot (Marie), Gerard (Meiji) and Adrian (Anna), as well as extended family and friends too numerous to mention.

Ambrose showed profound strength and courage these past 18 months as his health began to fail.  He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who was a devoted husband, father and pop.  He was a man of few words but much wisdom.  Ambrose loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoying a good laugh, making jokes, and displaying his sarcastic sense of humour.  Cheers to Old Sam!

Spending a lifetime at sea as Fishing Master, Ambrose took full responsibility of his crew and ship and was known to many as “Skipper”.  After he retired from the fishing industry, he was able to devote more time to his love of carpentry.  He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed taking on many projects and was always willing to lend a strong helping hand.

The family would like to thank all those who provided support and care at this time.  Thank you to the medical staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, the staff of Palliative Care, and a special thanks to the Eastern Health Team: Cheryl Goulding, Ashley Careen, Petrina Daly and Eileen Hunt.

Resting at Dunphy's Funeral Home, Holyrood, public visitation in keeping with Covid-19 Regulations will take place on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Cremation has already taken place, and there will be a private burial service following the visitation.
