Alphonsus Michael ("Phonse") Grace

It is with very sad hearts that the family of Alphonsus Michael Grace announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 64.  Phonse bravely battled several health issues for many years. Predeceased by his wonderful parents Richard and Patricia, brothers Paul and Buck, sister Susan, special friend Pauline Hepditch and brother-in-law Ken Gibbons.  Left with precious memories are his daughters Ashley, Courtney (Brian Penney), Cassandra and beautiful grandchildren Amelia and Charlotte.  Sisters and brothers: Theresa Griffin (Frank), Bernice, Loretta (Steve), Paddy, Joe (Sherry), Liz, Bob (Rita) and Hazel Barron (Stephen) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, Aunt Annie and  Uncle Joe.  A sincere thank you to the nursing staff of 6 West at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and the doctors, too many to mention, for all their dedication and care of our dear father and brother.  A special thank you to his night nurse, Kate Ennis, who was there for Phonse in his final moments and for the comfort and support that was given to the family as we said our good byes.

“Phonsie” will be remembered for his love of his three girls, a good scoff and a scuff, and a game of cards. 

Cremation has taken place. Public visitation will be in keeping with Covid-19 Regulations will take place at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, SMB on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be by invitation only due to Covid-19 Restrictions, anyone wishing to attend must contact the family.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, SMB with inurnment to follow at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Cemetery.
