Sorry that we are not able to be with you all during this difficult time, but we are in Ontario visiting family. Please accept our deep and heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your father. He was an amazing man who lived a full life. We fondly remember all the good times we had with Wilf. His love for his music showed on his face every time he played the accordian. We will certainly miss him and his music. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

What a loss to the Newfoundland musical community. I remember seeing him play as a kid. I still hold on to an album and my father Paddy Power could chin them all. . My heart goes out to the family. Tonight a group of musicians head to Renews for a concert. Graham Wells and Kelly Russell will be there. We'll raise the roof in Wilf's name. Rest in peace Mr Doyle There's spot reserved for you close to the harps.

During my childhood, and throughout most of my adult years, Wilf Doyle's name and music were known so well and appreciated so much. My dad, Don Randell, was a friend and a musical colleague of his. I send my deepest sympathy to Wilf's family, and a loving wish that the man and his music will forever live on in your hearts. Susan (Randell) Roberts and the family of the late Don Randell

Condolences to all Wilf's family. His life was filled with "Music and Friends" and he brought joy to us all with his spirited accordion playing. Wilf will be forever remembered for keeping the traditional "Lancers Set Dancing" music alive around the Bay. Who could resist joining in a lively set when Wilf took up his accordion and started off "The Captain and His Wiskers" and onto other favourites as "Musseles in the Corner" Closing my eyes and listening to his music brings back great memories of Wilf playing at the Conception Harbour church hall. Farewell to a great musician and proud Newfoundlander.

It is with deep sadness that I send my condolences to the entire family of the late Wilf Doyle. Upon learing of his passing an image of yesteryear came forward that took me back to his days of performing, of which I was truly influenced by. His recordings, his great sense of enjoyment in the trad. music field were part of a generation that will be hard to repleace. The many tunes that I perform even now I owe to Wif Doyls. He was a household name. We have indeed lost a native son. So Wilf, as you journey to that heavly land, rest assured there will be others watching over you as they in turn listen to the accordion that you will continue to play in spirit and in faith for future genrations to come. In closing and, on behalf of my family I wish to extend deepest sympathy to Wif's family and friends. I'm sure they too will fully understnd the legacy that is now being left behind. Brenda, Wilfie and Cheryl, I just heard the sad news of your Fathers passing. As I sit here, I am filled with memories of being at your house during band practices. I can still hear your fathers laughter sometimes I would get him going just to hear him laugh. I remember when he played at Mom and Dad's 50th anniversay, it really made the night for all the "Burkes" having him there and playing the "Lancers". I have his album and a picture of the original band which I treasure. My heart goes out to you today and offer our condolences to you all for such a wonderful Man and a treasure to Newfoundland music.

Wilf Doyle was a pioneer in Newfoundland music. He brought his local accordion style and repertoire to the world through tours, shows, broadcasts and recordings. It was great music. He was the only two-time winner of the ECMA's "Stompin' Tom" award, to name just two of the many richly deserved recognitions that came to him. I count myself privileged to have known him for many years. He was always cheerful and friendly.

Brenda, Wilfie & Cheryl, Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your wonderful Dad . I'm so sorry that I couldn't be with you at this sad time , but all of you are in my thoughts. I will always remember the two years I spent with you as your Nanny when I was only 16 years old ( I'm now 64 )and how your Dad & Mom made me feel one of the family , that will remain forever in my heart . They even tried very hard to teach me to play the accordion / piano/ guitar but with me been so young , I wasn't too interested . I'm sorry for that ever since ... I'll put the blame on those boys from Avondale lol. I'll always remember his unique laugh & his beautiful music that I play often . I visited him last year @ Woodfords & he played a few tunes & we danced in his room . A great Legacy he has left us with . Take care Theresa Lee Critch & Stephen

I didn't know Mr. Doyle personally, but over the years, I've been hearing more and more of his recorded works on vinyl. I was also there the day he received his lifetime achievement award from the Folk Arts Society, and the loss of such a pioneer of Newfoundland and Labrador music is extremely sad. My sincerest condolences to the family.

My condolences to Brenda, Wilfie, Cheryl and families. Uncle Wilf shared his love of music and Newfoundland with myself and my daughter Karen. We were privileged to attend some of his concerts thru the years. My yearly trips to NL from San Antonio, Texas to do genealogy and connect with Uncle Wilf were special. May he rest in peace.
